In breve

1. Chi mette a disposizione Budgee

I dati li inserisci tu, e restano tuoi.

Quello che Budgee non fa:

  • non è un istituto di credito, un intermediario finanziario o un istituto di pagamento, e non è soggetto alla vigilanza di Banca d'Italia o Consob;
  • non muove denaro, non apre conti, non esegue pagamenti e non si collega ai tuoi conti bancari per operare al posto tuo;
  • non presta consulenza finanziaria, in materia di investimenti, legale o fiscale, e non fornisce raccomandazioni personalizzate ai sensi dell'art. 1, comma 5-septies.1 del d.lgs. 58/1998;

  • gli importi che vedi sono stime, calcolate su ipotesi generali e sui dati che hai messo tu. Un dato inserito male produce una stima sbagliata, e l'app non ha modo di accorgersene;
  • le regole fiscali cambiano, e cambiano spesso. I contenuti possono non essere aggiornati all'ultima norma, all'ultima circolare o all'ultimo chiarimento;
  • ogni situazione ha dettagli che una guida generale non può conoscere, e sono spesso proprio quei dettagli a cambiare il risultato;

5. I tuoi dati restano tuoi

6. Come si usa Budgee, e come no

  • entrare in account che non sono tuoi, o provarci, e più in generale aggirare i controlli di accesso;
  • caricare contenuti illeciti, o dati di altre persone senza che quelle persone lo sappiano e lo vogliano;
  • attaccare il servizio, sovraccaricarlo, estrarne i dati in massa o usarlo in modo che ne comprometta il funzionamento per gli altri;

11. Modifiche a questi termini

In short

Budgee is a tool for keeping household finances in order. It helps you record what comes in and what goes out, see how things move over time, and work the numbers before you decide something.

It is not a bank, it does not handle your money, and it does not tell you what to do. In particular it is not an advisory service: what you find in it, including the tax sections, is there to help you understand a situation, not to establish what you owe. That is what an accountant is for, and these pages do not replace one.

Budgee is free and one person builds it in their spare time. That is worth knowing, because it explains both why you are never asked to pay and why there cannot be the uptime commitment of a paid service.

1. Who provides Budgee

Budgee is built and made available by Andrea Bonacci, personally and free of charge, on a non-profit basis and outside any professional or business activity.

For anything concerning these terms or the app, write to andreabonacci95@protonmail.com.

How your personal data is handled is explained in the privacy notice, a separate document meant to be read alongside this one.

2. What Budgee is, and what it is not

Budgee is a web application that lets you record expenses and income, set budgets, track investments and loans, attach documents, and see all of it as charts and summaries. You enter the data, and it stays yours.

What Budgee does not do:

  • it is not a credit institution, a financial intermediary or a payment institution, and it is not supervised by Banca d'Italia or Consob;
  • it does not move money, open accounts, execute payments, or connect to your bank accounts to act on your behalf;
  • it does not provide financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it gives no personal recommendations within the meaning of art. 1(5-septies.1) of Italian Legislative Decree 58/1998;
  • it does not file, submit or prepare tax returns on your behalf to the Italian Revenue Agency or any other authority.

What you see on screen is your own numbers, rearranged. It remains a representation of what you entered, not a certification that it is correct.

3. The tax guide and its calculations

Budgee's tax sections are informational material. They are not tax advice and they do not replace a qualified professional.

Budgee includes a guide explaining which forms and sections apply to a given situation, and calculations that estimate amounts from the data you entered. They exist to get you prepared, not to replace the person who signs the return.

Concretely:

  • the amounts you see are estimates, computed on general assumptions and on the data you entered. Data entered wrongly produces a wrong estimate, and the app has no way of noticing;
  • tax rules change, and they change often. Content may not reflect the latest law, circular or clarification;
  • every situation has details a general guide cannot know, and those details are often exactly what changes the result;
  • what you declare remains your responsibility. Before using a number produced by Budgee in a tax return, a payment or any decision with tax consequences, have an accountant check it.

The same applies to the investment and loan sections: projections, expected returns and amortisation schedules are calculations on assumptions, not forecasts of what will happen.

4. Your account

Using Budgee requires an account, created with an email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication.

You choose the password and you keep it safe. Whoever has it gets into your account and sees your data, so keep it to yourself and do not reuse it elsewhere. If you think someone got in, change it immediately and write to us if needed.

The details you give when registering must be truthful. One account per person, and no creating an account in someone else's name.

5. Your data stays yours

What you put into Budgee is yours. It is not sold, not passed on, and not used to profile you or to advertise to you.

You can export your data at any time from the settings, as CSV, and you can delete your account along with everything in it. What is kept, for how long and why is set out in the privacy notice.

Keeping your own backups of what matters to you remains a good idea, for the same reason it is a good idea with any service.

6. How to use Budgee, and how not to

Budgee is for personal use. You may use it for yourself, your household and your own activity, within what the app does.

It must not be used to:

  • access accounts that are not yours, or attempt to, and more generally to circumvent access controls;
  • upload unlawful content, or other people's data without their knowledge and agreement;
  • attack the service, overload it, extract its data in bulk, or use it in ways that degrade it for others;
  • unlawful activity, including hiding money or evading tax.

An account used that way may be suspended or closed. Where possible, you are told why first.

Budgee's source code is published on GitHub under its own licence: if you want to study it, modify it or run your own copy, that licence governs what you may do. These terms cover the use of the hosted app, not the code.

7. The service is free, and does not promise to always be there

Budgee is provided free of charge and as is. There is no service contract behind it, no guaranteed availability levels and no support with response times.

Put plainly, this means the service may be interrupted for maintenance, may malfunction, may change in what it does, and in extreme cases may shut down. Should it shut down, the intention is to give reasonable notice and time to export your data, but that is a commitment set against the limits of a personal project.

Budgee relies on third-party services, in particular Firebase and Google Drive. If those are down, Budgee is down, and that is not something that can be fixed from here.

8. Liability

Budgee is made available with a commitment to making it work well, but with no warranty that it is free of errors, that its calculations are exact in every situation, or that it fits a particular purpose you have in mind.

The decisions you make remain yours. If you use a number from the app to decide on an investment, a payment or a tax return, that decision is yours, and as stated in section 3 anything tax-related should be checked by a professional.

As this is a free service offered outside any professional activity, no compensation is provided for damages arising from use of the app or from its failure to work.

Liability for wilful misconduct and gross negligence (art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code) and liability for damage to life, health and physical integrity remain unaffected, because the law does not allow them to be excluded and no clause on this page attempts to.

9. Closing your account

You can stop using Budgee whenever you like, and delete your account from the settings. Deletion removes your data as described in the privacy notice. Export what you need to keep before you proceed: afterwards it cannot be recovered.

10. Minors

Budgee is not intended for children under 14. If you are between 14 and 18 you may use it with the consent of whoever holds parental responsibility.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change, for instance if the app changes or if the rules to comply with do. When a change is substantial, the date at the top of the page is updated and you are asked to accept the new version: the old one does not cover a different service.

If you do not accept the new version you can still export your data and delete your account. Typo fixes and rewrites that do not change the substance do not trigger a new acceptance.

12. Governing law and disputes

Italian law applies to these terms.

If you use Budgee as a consumer, that is for purposes outside your professional activity, the competent court remains the court of the place where you reside or have elected domicile, and no clause on this page can move that venue elsewhere or remove the protections the Italian Consumer Code gives you.

Before going to court, writing to the address in section 1 is almost always the faster way to solve a problem.

13. Language

These terms are drafted in Italian and translated into English for convenience. In case of discrepancy between the two versions, the Italian text prevails.
